From: WholisticHealingResearch.com Newsletter NEW STUDIES 1. Spiritual Healing Harald Wiesendanger, et al, Chronically ill patients treated by spiritual healing improve quality of life: results of a randomized waiting-list controlled study, J. of Alternative and Complementary Medicine 2001, 7(1), 45-51 Wiesendanger et al studied 59 people in Germany with chronic physical problems that had been present for at least a year and resistant to other forms of treatment. Distant healing over 5 months significantly improved quality of life (p < 0.0005) in the treatment group. Quality of life was unchanged in the control group. 2. William Tiller, Walter E.Dibble, Jr and Michael J. Hohane, Exploring robust interactions between human intention and inanimate/animate systems, Part 1: Experimental, Frontier Perspectives: The Center for Frontier Sciences at Temple University, 2000, 9(2), 6-22. Tiller and colleagues developed devices for imprinting intentions. For instance, the intention to raise or lower the acidity (pH) of water can be imprinted on their device, and an experimenter who is blind to the direction of the intent can put the device in water and confirm that it is effective. As the body is 65 percent water, this study suggests a confirmation of the possibility that healers may influence the body through their intent. ************* Register for this free online newsletter at www.WholisticHealingResearch.com Your comments, suggestions and brief notes and articles are welcomed.
