2.  Quantum Mind 2003:   Consciousness, Quantum Physics and the Brain
March 15-19, 2003,
Tucson Convention Center and Leo Rich Theater
The University of Arizona
www.consciousness.arizona.edu/quantum-mind2

Could quantum information be the key to understanding consciousness?
Will the study of consciousness enable quantum information technology?

The nature of consciousness and its place in the universe remain mysterious.
Classical models view consciousness as computation among the brain's neurons
but fail to address its enigmatic features. At the same time quantum processes
(superposition of states, nonlocality, entanglement,) also remain mysterious,
yet are being harnessed in revolutionary information technologies (quantum
computation, quantum cryptography and quantum teleportation.)

A relation between consciousness and quantum effects has been pondered for
nearly a century, and in the past decades quantum processes in the brain
have been invoked as explanations for consciousness and its enigmatic features.
Critics deride this comparison as a mere "minimization of mysteries" and
quickly point out that the brain is too warm for quantum computation, which
in the technological realm requires extreme cold to avoid "decoherence" (i.e.
the loss of seemingly delicate quantum states by interaction with the
environment.)

However quantum computation would surely be advantageous from an evolutionary
perspective, and biology has had 4 billion years to solve the decoherence
problem and evolve quantum mechanisms. Furthermore, recent experimental evidence
indicates quantum non-locality occurring in conscious and subconscious brain
function, and functional quantum processes in molecular biology are becoming
more and more apparent.

Much like study of the brain's synaptic connections promoted artificial neural
networks in the 1980's, appreciation of biological quantum information
processing may promote quantum information technology. Moreover, macroscopic quantum
processes are being proposed as intrinsic features in cosmology, evolution
and social interactions.

Following the first "Quantum Mind" conference held in Flagstaff at Northern
Arizona University in 1999, "Quantum Mind 2003" will update current status
and future directions, and provide dialog with skeptical criticism of the
proposed synthesis of quantum information science and the brain.

THE 8TH SYMPOSIUM OF THE IABC

Sponsored by the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR BIOLOGICALLY CLOSED
ELECTRIC CIRCUITS IN BIOMEDICINE
in cooperation with the Laboratory of Medical Physics of the Medical School, and Department of
Nuclear Technology of the Polytechnic School, Democritus University of Thrace; Alexandroupolis and
Xanthi Campuses

When: September 19 - 22, 2003
Where: Thraki Palace Hotel Alexandroupolis, Greece

ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

Symposium President: Professor Photios Anninos
Vice President Professor Nikolaos Tsagas
Vice President Dr. Adam Adamoupolis
Dr. Athanasia Kotini
Corresponding Secretary: Ms. Ionela Tranca

Dear IABC Associates and Friends,

The forthcoming IABC Symposium promises to be of vital interest to an ever widening group of attendees.
We anticipate a variety of alternative medical presentations from many parts of the globe, but
our primary focus will be on electrical and/or electromagnetically based medical innovations helpful particularly
to oncologists, ophthalmologists, and neurologists.

CANCER and EchT (Direct Current)

Oncologists attending their first IABC symposium can benefit from the fifteen years of experience our 300
Chinese associates have had with the application of electrochemical therapy (EchT) to many types of
cancer as well as hemangioma. Today literally thousands of cancer patients have been treated with EchT,
and the success rates achieved have been far higher than any reported in western medicine. Led by
Professor Xin Yu-Ling, EchT is now being taught to physicians in South Korea and other countries on the
Pacific Rim. EchT is also being used successfully at Klinik St. Georg, Bad Aibling, Germany and
in several other European clinics. Professor Bjorn E. W. Nordenstrøm  discovered EchT and introduced
this technique to China in 1987 where it has now become fully accepted by the Chinese Medical Association.

AGE RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION (Micro currents)

The leading cause of blindness in persons over the age of 65 is now being effectively treated by means of
micro currents of electricity. Several leading American researchers now preparing to introduce this
therapy into the medical mainstream will be offering presentations. In 1997 U.S. Golfing legend, the late
Sam Snead, was treated with MCS (micro current stimulation) and over a period of four days his vision
in the better eye improved from 20/100 to 20/30. This improvement is atypically high, but in the great majority
of ARMD cases there is either some improvement or a halt in the progressive degeneration.
MCS has also been proven efficacious in the treatment of retinitus pigmentosa.

We look forward to learning of the recent progress made applying MCS not only to vision problems, but
also to neuromuscular and other medical problems.

NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS (Weak Magnetic Fields)

Professors Photios Anninos, Nikolaos Tsagas, and their associates have been making medical history with the
application of weak magnetic fields to an array of medical disorders. For more than a decade Parkinson’s
Disease and epilepsy have been very successfully treated with extremely weak magnetic fields. Other
neurological disorders such as cerebral palsy, Alzheimer’s Disease, and multiple sclerosis have also responded,
but not as remarkably as has PD or epilepsy.

More recently weak magnetic fields have been successfully applied in the treatment of schizophrenia, autism,
and infertility. The limits of efficacy for this treatment have not yet been determined.

Our symposium president, Professor Anninos, will be pleased to share information on the numerous medical
achievements made by the department of medical physics.

Attendees will visit the department laboratory housed in the new University Hospital, the largest hospital in
the Balkans.

The Symposium Challenge

Physicians, but especially neurologists who wish to attend the symposium are invited to bring with them one
or two Parkinson’s patients from their country of origin. The PD patients must be ambulatory, and otherwise
in good health. The patients will be evaluated and treated during the course of the symposium.

A maximum of ten patients will be accepted for evaluation and treatment. For more information, please contact
Carl F. Firley, medical coordinator for "The Symposium Challenge."

Attendees can inspect the superconducting quantum interference device (or SQUID) and see for themselves
how the SQUID is used to evaluate the patient and thereafter, how weak magnetic fields
are applied in treating the patients.

If ten patients are involved, we predict that from 5 to 8 of the patients will clearly show improvement over
the duration of the symposium.

First Call for Papers

Complete information regarding the symposium will be sent to you shortly. This announcement is being
made in order to inform you of the symposium dates, and in the hope that you will reserve time for
the symposium on your calendar.

In Appreciation

The pioneering BCEC research of IABC founder Professor Bjørn E. W. Nordenstrøm ties these diverse
therapies together. It is with our profound gratitude to him and his associates at the Karolinska
Institut in Stockholm, Sweden, that we recognize the monumental contribution to medical science made
possible by Professor Nordenstrøm’s work.

SCOPE of CASYS'03

The scope of CASYS'03 will be oriented to theoretical developments and applications in the
modelling and computing of anticipatory systems in any fields of natural and artificial systems.

A computing anticipatory system is a system which computes its current states in taking into
account its past and present states but also its potential future states.

Strong anticipation refers to an anticipation of events built by or embedded in a system.

Weak anticipation refers to an anticipation of events predicted or forecasted from a model of a system.

A class of computing anticipatory systems deals with the differential difference equation with
retardation and anticipation dx(t)/dt = F(x(t), x(t - tr), x(t + ta)), where t is the current time, tr a
delayed time and ta an advanced time, is a strong anticipatory system.

Another class of computing anticipatory systems deals with discrete incursive and hyperincursive
equations. An incursive equation is an inclusive or implicit recursive equation such as, for example,
x(t+1) := F(x(t), x*(t+1)), where each iterate x(t+1) is computed at each time step t = 1,2,3,... from a
function F of x(t) and x*(t+1), where x*(t+1) is the anticipation of x(t) at the next time step t + 1,
computed from the system itself or from a model. A hyperincursive equation is an incursive equation
which generates multiple iterates at each computing step.

1.NIH Human Frontier Science Program

http://www.hfsp.org/

The aim of the HFSP is to support basic research focused on complex
mechanisms of living organisms
; fields supported range from brain functions to biological functions at the molecular level. Particular emphasis is now placed on bringing scientists from fields such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science and engineering together with biologists to open up new approaches to understanding complex biological systems.

HFSP previously supported 2 scientific programs focused on neuroscience and molecular biology. With the dissolving of boundaries separating traditional biological fields, and the need to involve disciplines outside biology in life science research, these separate programs have been unified into a single scientific program by the HFSP Board of Trustees. Henceforth, a single committee will review all grant applications, while a second committee will review all long-term fellowship applications. Both committees are composed of leading international scientists.

Research Grants are awarded for projects that involve extensive collaboration among teams of scientists working in different countries. Emphasis is on novel collaborations that bring together scientists from different disciplines.

26.  NIH: DEVELOPMENTAL /PILOT PROJECTS IN CANCER COMPLEMENTARY
AND ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE (CAM)

This Program Announcement expires on October 22, 2003, unless reissued.

Release Date: December 17, 2001

PA NUMBER: PAR-02-040

National Cancer Institute
 (http://cancer.gov/)
National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine
 (http://nccam.nih.gov/)

PURPOSE

The Office of Cancer Complementary and Alternative Medicine of the National Cancer Institute (NCI),
and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) invite research grant
applications from interested investigators to conduct innovative developmental pilot research
investigating Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) in cancer. The intent of this initiative is to
encourage and support the development of basic and clinical CAM cancer research and to provide the
basis for more extended research projects by establishing the methodological feasibility and
strengthening the scientific rationale for these projects. This announcement is also intended to stimulate
and facilitate the entry of promising investigators into cancer CAM research through a program of
exploratory investigator-initiated R21 grants.

The exploratory/developmental (R21) grant mechanism is used for pilot projects or feasibility studies to
support the exploration of feasibility, as well as the development, of projects investigating CAM in cancer
and for the generation of preliminary data. The R21 mechanism is specifically intended to support innovative
ideas where preliminary data are sparse or do not exist. The R21 supported projects are intended to serve as
a foundation for planning and developing future research projects (R01s). The objective of this Program
Announcement (PA) is to encourage applications from individuals who are interested in testing novel or
conceptually creative ideas that may produce innovative advances in the understanding and use of
CAM in cancer.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

[...]
There is a paucity of R01 funded research grants in the field of cancer CAM. Therefore, to increase the
number and quality of investigator-initiated R01 research grants on cancer CAM, the NCI's Office of
Cancer Complementary and Alternative Medicine and NCCAM developed this PA for Developmental/Pilot
Projects in Cancer CAM. Applications will undergo competitive review organized by the NCCAM
in collaboration with the NCI.

The intent of this initiative is to encourage and support the development of basic, and clinical (prevention,
therapeutic and palliative) CAM cancer research. Another goal of this initiative is to facilitate communication
and collaboration between the CAM practitioner and the conventional cancer research communities.

For the purpose of this PA, applicants must include modalities from the following broad program areas in CAM:

Alternative Medical Systems (e.g., oriental medicine, Ayurvedic, homeopathy, naturopathy);

Manipulative and Body-based Systems (e.g., chiropractic, osteopathic, massage therapy or unconventional
applications of integrated conventional and physical therapies);

Energy Therapies. These approaches focus either on energy fields purported to originate within or be
conducted through the body (e.g., external qi gong, therapeutic touch, Reiki, intentional effects on
living systems); or those from other sources [e.g., therapeutic application of electromagnetic (EM)
fields including pulsed EM fields, magnetic fields, Direct Current (DC) fields].

Pharmacological or Biologically based Therapies (e.g., metabolic therapies and immunoaugmentative
therapies as used by CAM practitioners or the public such as Coley's toxin, Enzyme therapies,
the Livingston-Wheeler system, the Revici system, or 714-X )

Herbal Medicine (Note: This category includes studies of whole plant products or extracts and does
not include the study or isolation of active ingredients from herbal preparations except where
identification and standardization of optimal whole product are the specific aim -- e.g. optimal ratio of

The basically new Hierarchic Theory of Matter and Field has been elaborated and quantitatively verified on examples of water and ice by computer simulations. Corresponding computer program (copyright 1997, Kaivarainen): "Comprehensive Analyzer of Matter Properties (CAMP)" makes it possible to evaluate about
300 physical parameters of any liquid and solid.  The idea of new optoacoustic device with similar name -
CAMP, described below, is based on Hierarchic theory and computer program.

The market for Comprehensive Analyzer of Matter Properties (CAMP) is free and due to its unique
informational potential could be even bigger than that for IR, Raman or Brillouin spectrometers.

I propose to my potential partner collaboration in building of CAMP prototype,
its patenting, manufacturing and marketing
COMPREHENSIVE ANALYZER OF MATTER PROPERTIES (CAMP)

by:  Alex Kaivarainen

http://www.karelia.ru/~alexk

The new physical device named: Comprehensive Analyzer of Matter Properties (CAMP) with novel and wide possibilities for fundamental study of condensed matter (liquid and solid), monitoring of different process in pharmaceutics, beverage and paper technology, chemical and polymer technology, biotechnology and
technology of real materials  has been proposed. This device is based on the new Hierarchic Theory of Matter
and related computer program (CAMP)", developed by A. Kaivarainen (copyright 1997).

Theory has been published in my books:

  - "Mesoscopic theory of condensed matter and its interaction with light", University of Turku, Finland, 1992;
  -  "Hierarchic Concept of Matter and Field. Water, biosystems and elementary particles",
New York , 1995.

Corresponding series of articles is presented at the web site and are available on-line:

The results of calculations of lot of parameters for water and ice, using our computer program (CAMP), are
very close to  available experimental data. This fact confirms the correctness of new theory.
Quantum Hierarchic theory is a first one general for liquids and solids. Our theory unify and extends strongly
the Einstein and Debye
models.  It considers the condensed matter as a "gas" of different kinds of three-dimensional (3D) standing waves:
    - de Broglie waves, related to molecular translations (tr) and librations (lb);
    - IR photons, corresponding to intermolecular (tr) and (lb) modes;
    - thermal phonons.

The hierarchical model, describing virtually all the properties of condensed matter, is a result of superposition
of four new basic types of quasiparticles (collective excitations): Effectons, Convertons, Transitons and
Deformons, which are strongly interrelated with each other.

EFFECTONS are three-dimensional (3D) superposition of standing de Broglie waves of molecules or ions,
related to their translations and librations. The thermal in-phase (acoustic, a) or counter phase (optic, b)
oscillations of particles in the volume of effectons are coherent.  In general case the EFFECTONS represent coherent clusters, resulted from high temperature molecular Bose condensation, as it shown in our computer simulations;
CONVERTONS [tr/lb] are responsible for interconversions between translational and librational types of the effectons;
TRANSITONS are related with (a - b) quantum transitions - quantum beats between acoustic and optic anharmonic modes of the effectons. They can radiate and absorb coherent IR photons or thermal
phonons;
DEFORMONS: primary (electromagnetic) and secondary (acoustic) represent a 3D superposition -
interception of standing photons and phonons, correspondingly, radiated by TRANSITONS.

All possible combinations of the above listed four basic excitations lead to HIERARCHIC SYSTEM of 4!=24 quasiparticles, making it possible the comprehensive quantitative description of any kind of condensed matter.
Hierarchic theory is quantitatively confirmed already on the examples of water and ice in books, mentioned above. It is a new convenient bridge for unification of Micro - and Macro - Word in terms of quantum physics, making it possible to get a qualitatively and quantitatively new information about liquids and solids.

The set of formulae obtained in our theory allows to calculate about 300 parameters of any condensed matter.  Most of them are hidden, i.e. inaccessible for direct experimental measurements.

Simulations evaluation of these parameters can be done using our computer program: CAMP (copyright
1997, Kaivarainen) and the following
experimental methods:
1. Far/middle IR spectroscopy for determination the positions of translational or librational bands: (30-2500) cm-1;
2. Sound velocimetry;
3.Dilatometry, for molar volume or density registration;
4.Refractometry.
These data should be obtained simultaneously at the same temperature and pressure from the SAME
SAMPLE in ideal case. Among the parameters of matter evaluated are so important as: internal energy, heat capacity, thermal conductivity, viscosity, coefficient of self-diffusion, surface tension, solvent activity, vapor pressure, internal pressure, parameters of all types of quasiparticles (concentration, volume, dimensions, energy, probability of excitation, life-time) and many others.
The combination of equipment listed above (1-4) in one unit (CAMP) - makes it possible to conduct such
kind of
measurements and corresponding computer simulations.

The most complicated and expensive component of CAMP is FT-IR  spectrometer for far and middle region.
The most sensitive parameter is sound velocity.  The less sensitive and stable parameter is molar volume or density.

One of possible CAMP configuration should include special attachment to  FT-IR spectrometer, making it possible the simultaneous registration of reflection spectra in far/middle IR region and refraction index. Such approach allows to study the properties of samples with strong IR absorption (i.e. aqueous systems) and non transparent mediums.
The combination of such modified FT-IR spectrometer with another device for simultaneous measurement of matter density and sound velocity will provide 4 parameters, listed above,  to run our computer (copyright,
1997, Kaivarainen).
The sample cell for liquids and solids should have a shape, allowing to make all these measurements simultaneously. The interface of CAMP's registration techniques with personal computer makes it possible a monitoring of very different dynamic physical process in real time.

The another configuration of CAMP may include as a basic device the Brillouin light scattering spectrometer. It makes possible simultaneous measurement of sound velocity (from the Doppler shift of side bands of Brillouin spectra) and positions of intermolecular bands [tr and lb] in oscillatory spectra in the far IR.  Our hierarchic
theory of Brillouin light scattering gives much more information about condensed matter properties than conventional one.

Comprehensive Analyzer of Matter Properties (CAMP) represents a basically new type of scientific
equipment, allowing to get incomparable big amount of information concerning physics of liquids or solids. It
can be very useful for fundamental study of dynamics, thermodynamics and mesoscopic structure of pure
matter, solid and liquid solutions, the colloid systems and host-guest systems.

CAMP may be very useful for monitoring of physical parameters of drinking water, drug solutions, pulp in
paper technology. In biotechnology CAMP can be used for elucidation of mechanism of the antifreeze and ice nucleation proteins action on water dynamic structure and thermodynamics.
In biophysics CAMP may provide the crucial information about the role of water in biosystems, water
mediated distant interactions between biopolimers in a course of their conformational change.
Study of influence of electromagnetic and acoustic fields on aqueous systems and water - dependent process is possible using CAMP. The monitoring of crystal growth and new materials production is possible also.

CAMP allows to get very detailed information about following processes: temperature and pressure induced
first and second order phase transitions, self-organization in water-polymer and biological systems, liquid crystals, perturbations of matter stimulated by external physical fields, etc.

Such complicated phenomena as the turbulence, superfluity and superconductivity can be quantitatively analyzed and elucidated.   CAMP can be used also for understanding the mechanism of turbulence and ways of its regulation by physical fields. It's a matter of big scientific and practical importance. For this end a special cuvette with circulating liquid can be constructed.

CAMP will be useful in a lot of research laboratories, studying condensed matter physics as well as in INDUSTRY of chemical technology and nanotechnology, for monitoring the processes of crystallization, polymerization, chemical reactions and the final properties of real materials.

Configuration of CAMP, based on micro IR-spectroscopy or confocal  Brillouin microspectrometry could allow thecomprehensive analysis of matter properties in microvolumes.

Demonstrational version of CAMP computer program is located at URL: http://www.karelia.ru/~alexk/demo.zip
Theoretical background is presented in series of papers at Archive of Los-Alamos:
http://arXiv.org/find/physics/1/au:+Kaivarainen/0/1/0/all/0/1

The market for Comprehensive Analyzer of Matter Properties (CAMP) is free and due to its unique informational potential could be much bigger than that for IR, Raman or Brillouin spectrometers.

By:Alex Kaivarainen

During preliminary investigation of CAMP-project, the following tasks have been accomplished:

-The number of International companies, producing equipment, which could be used for Comprehensive Analyzer of Matter Properties (CAMP) assembly, has been contacted;

-After getting the information requested, the optimal configuration of CAMP was chosen. It is presented in form of block-scheme below.

The block-scheme of Comprehensive Analyzer of Matter Properties (CAMP)

The approximate prices of equipment for CAMP-system are presented below:

a) FT-IR spectrometer NEXUS-870 (Nicolet) with attachment “Seagull”(HarrickSci. Co.) for getting the reflection spectra of strongly absorbed aqueous mediums in middle and far IR (2000-50) 1/cm………………………………………………………………75. 000 EU

b) Combined unit for simultaneous measurement of sound velocity and density in wide temperature interval: DSA 5000(Anton-Paar): …………………………21.000 EU

c)Refractometer RE 40(Oy GW BERG & Co Ab)……………………..14.000 EU

Total price of equipment for CAMP assembly:110.000 EU

The approximate time necessary for CAMP assembly and testing is about 12 month with technical assistance of engineer.

The most important component of CAMP is computer program, based on Hierarchic theory of condensed matter, developed by A. Kaivarainen (copyright, 1997). This program via interface of the above listed equipment with personal computer allows evaluating about 300 parameters of condensed matter and their changes in real time.

The demonstrational version of CAMP computer program can be downloaded from the front page of site: www.karelia.ru/~alexk.This Demo-CAMP program, illustrates a wide possibilities ofCAMP system on examples of water and ice in T-interval: 30 – 370 K.

The new quantum Hierarchic theory of condensed matter, is on-line:
http://arxiv.org/abs/physics/0102086

It demonstrates good correspondence between theoretical computer simulations andexperimental data on examples of ice and water.

The sensitivity of final results of computer calculation of number of important parameters of water (total
internal energy, number of molecules in coherent clusters, vapor pressure, surface tension, thermal
conductivity, viscosity and coefficient of self-diffusion) to variation of primary parameters (position of translational and librational bands in IR spectra, sound velocity, density and refraction index) in the range:
+/- 0%;+/- 1%and+/-3%has been investigated.

It is proved, that CAMP - computer program is stable to such variations. For the other hand, deviations between calculated and experimental results usually correspond to+/- 1% or+/- 3% variation of primary data.

Seeking brave genetics researcher to study biological systems as random-number generators (RNGs) that can be influenced by mental intent. Mechanical, electronic, and radioactive RNGs have been shown to respond to intent. Seeking brave genetics researcher to study biological systems as random-number generators (RNGs) that can be influenced by mental intent. Mechanical, electronic, and radioactive RNGs have been shown to respond to intent. As gametes divide in the process of meiosis, genes in chromosome pairs are randomly distributed between the chromosome pairs, and chromosome pairs are randomly distributed between egg and sperm cells Ð representing, in effect, a biological RNG. It should be possible to set up a dominant-recessive cross (e.g. the classical Mendelian black and white bean study) and have subjects wish more white or more black progeny to develop. Could be done with plants, fruit flies, bacteria.

3.  IR-LASER BASED SELECTIVE CANCER CELLS ELIMINATOR

Alex Kaivarainen, h2o@karelia.ru
 http://www.karelia.ru/~alexk

The idea of this new device is based on our hypothesis of cancer emergence. It was proposed that unlimited cancer cell division is related to partial disassembly of cytoskeleton's actin filaments and microtubules due
to some genetically controlled mistakes in biosynthesis, leading to increasing of ions of [Ca{2+}] and or increasing the osmotic diffusion of water into transformed cell (Kaivarainen, 1995).

Decreasing of the intra-cell concentration of any other types of ions:  Na^{+}; K^{+}; H^{+}, Mg^{2+}
as the result of corresponding ionic pump destruction, incorporated in biomembranes, also may lead to
disassembly of filaments.

The shift of equilibrium: [assembly - disassembly] of microtubules (MTs) and actin filaments to the right
increases the amount of intra-cell water, involved in hydration shells of protein and decreases water activity.
As a consequence of concomitant osmotic process, cells tend to swell and acquire a ball-like shape, uncontrolled by microfilaments. The number of direct contacts between transformed cells decrease and the water activity in the inter-cell space increases also.

Certain decline in the external inter-cell water activity could be a triggering signal for the inhibition of normal cell division. The shape of normal cells under control of cell's filament is a specific one, providing good dense inter-cell contacts with limited amount of water, in contrast to transformed cells.

The absence of contact inhibition in the case of cancer cells can be a result of insufficient decreasing of inter-cell water activity due to loose the specific [cell-cell] contacts.

If our model of cancer emergence is correct, then the problem of tumor inhibition is related to the problem
of inter and intra-cell water activity regulation by means of chemical and physical factors.

Another approach for cancer healing we can propose is the IR laser treatment of transformed cells with
IR photons frequencies (about 3*10^13 (1/s), stimulating superdeformons excitation and collective disassembly
of MTs. This will prevent cells division and should have a good therapeutic effect.
This approach is based on assumption that stability of MTs in transformed cells is weaker and resonant frequency of superdeformons and other kind of water excitation differs from that of normal cells.

Superdeformons, inducing cavitational fluctuations in liquids represent a complex dynamic process, including simultaneous excitations of macrodeformons (tr and lb), convertons (lb/tr), primary and secondary deformons in the same volume (Kaivarainen, 1995; see also "New articles" at http://www.karelia.ru/~alexk). This means that the effect of cancer cells selective elimination at least of surface tissues can be enhanced by modulation of pilot laser beam by frequencies equal to one of those excitations due to increasing the resonance response.

The healing of nerve diseases and deep relaxation can be achieved also by the same approach. Like in the case of audio-video skin transmitter (Kaivarainen, 1997, this Home page), using the system of few flexible wave-guides, connecting laser with different acupuncture points the influence on the nerve system could be elevated strongly.

Computerized Qigong Database

Upgraded to Version 6.0
Available on CD for Windows and Mac

Search 2050 Citations from Original Sources for
Clinical and Experimental Research on Qigong
        Available through the Qigong Institute

Many of you have expressed interest in an updated version of the Computerized Qigong Database. I am happy to report that after many months of volunteer labor at the non-profit Qigong Institute, the Computerized Qigong Database has been updated to V 6.0. We have added about 25% more citations than the previous V 5.0, so now you can search 2050 references in English from this collection of clinical and experimental  research studies on Qigong.  The Computerized Qigong Database is provided on a CD suitable for Macintosh and Windows compatible computers.

Of substantial importance now is the growing Western medical interest in Eastern studies, and the Qigong Database has been designed specifically to serve as your most valuable tool to pursue your field of interest.

The Qigong Database is a collection of abstracts from about 20 international conferences and more than 100 scientific journals.  Using any key word(s), you can cross reference the entire collection and learn how Qigong has been applied to treat chronic conditions such as hypertension, aging, asthma and cardiovascular disease.  Understanding which research studies have been completed or are still in progress will be simple to determine.

Since the 1980's Chinese scientists have carried out extensive clinical and experimental research on many medical applications of Qigong.  As a result, the health benefits of Qigong are well documented.  Exercises performed by the 'average person' as well as Qi emitted by Qigong Masters while treating their patients are clearly demonstrated in the Qigong Database. Citations in the Database encompass the period from 1986 to 2002.

The Qigong Database has been used as source material for six books, four dissertations and numerous research studies. Its feedback from medical practitioners, scientists and the public has been overwhelmingly supportive. This collection of scientific research abstracts in English is too large and significant to ignore.

Complete details about the Computerized Qigong Database and an order form can be viewed and downloaded from the web site of the Qigong Institute  http://www.qigonginstitute.org
For your convenience you may pay by credit card.  A special discount is available for those who purchased V. 5.0.

Thank you for your interest in the health benefits of Qigong and for your support of the Qigong Institute.
